MLBB Expands Globally with Ambitious 2026 Esports Roadmap

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is entering one of the biggest competitive eras in its history following the announcement of MOONTON Games’ ambitious 2026 esports roadmap. The new direction introduces a large-scale restructuring of the global MLBB esports ecosystem, including a five-region competitive system, expanded international tournaments, and new qualification pathways designed to grow the game worldwide.

Under the new format, MLBB esports will now operate through five major regions: Southeast Asia (SEA), East Asia (EA), Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), and the Americas (AMER). According to MOONTON, this structure aims to unify the competitive ecosystem while also creating opportunities for emerging regions to compete at the highest level.

The roadmap also introduces the MLBB Championship Tour (MCT), a new intercontinental tournament system designed to connect regional competitions and strengthen the path toward global events like the Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the M-Series World Championship. East Asia recently became one of the newest regions officially integrated into the ecosystem, with teams from Japan, China, Mongolia, and South Korea set to compete in the inaugural MCT EA tournament in Shanghai.

At the same time, MLBB esports continues to break global viewership records. The M7 World Championship reached over 5.68 million peak concurrent viewers, becoming the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history. Reports also showed that MLBB led global esports watch time during Q1 2026, outperforming several major PC esports titles in total viewership.

The competitive scene has also seen major storylines emerge throughout the year. Aurora Gaming captured the M7 World Championship title after defeating Alter Ego in the grand finals, continuing the Philippines’ dominance in international MLBB competition. Meanwhile, organizations such as GEN.G have started entering the MLBB ecosystem, signaling growing interest from major global esports brands.

Beyond esports expansion, MLBB continues to generate excitement through collaborations and gameplay discussions across the community. Rumors surrounding a possible Naruto collaboration, debates over implementing Fearless Draft systems, and discussions about balancing competitive gameplay have all become trending topics among fans throughout 2026.

As MLBB approaches its 10th anniversary, MOONTON Games appears focused on transforming the title into a truly global esports ecosystem. With expansion into new regions, larger international tournaments, increasing investment from organizations, and record-breaking audience numbers, MLBB continues to strengthen its position as one of the biggest mobile esports titles in the world.
